A Pasadena, California-based Web retailer that helps women find fitting, flattering clothes says a call center solution from Fonality (

Alert) – the “PBXtra Call Center Edition” – that has helped it meet sharply rising growth and consumer demand.
The founders of myShape say they’d done such brisk business since setting up shop in 2004 that they’ve been forced to move into a more accommodating office. Yet the company couldn’t simply take their old phone system with them.
According to myShape co-founder John Dmohowski, the 60-person company developed an aggressive growth strategy and its IT staff shopped around for a dynamic phone system with scalability.
“Cost was not a primary driver for us,” Dmohowski said. “It was more important to find a solution that could scale and deploy easily, and provided a robust feature set.”
After looking at various popular call center options, the company settled on the Fonality product – in part, Dmohowski said, because it’s a pure VoIP

system. Fonality is a Los Angeles-based unified communications and contact center solutions provider for small and medium-sized businesses.
“I knew VoIP could provide the capabilities we needed when combined with sufficient bandwidth and would be less painful than working with traditional carriers that couldn’t move fast enough for us,” Dmohowski said. “We didn’t have the time to set up an appointment with the carrier every time we needed to add a phone.”
For Dmohowski, the PBXtra Call Center technology put myShape in charge of its own communications. The flexible system allowed myShape officials to move and add handsets quickly, he said.
“Fonality makes it extremely easy to order and install new phones,” he said. “I just call them and two days later the new phones show up, already configured. All we do is plug them in and we get an instant dial tone. I can’t place a value on that.”
The myShape co-founder added that the Fonality solution’s feature set doesn’t require inordinate amounts of staff training.
“PBXtra Call Center is nice because it does not get in the way,” he said. “The phones work like the devices people have been using their whole lives, which is not entirely true of all new products that are supposed to make our lives easier.”
