The network operation department of Alice plans to use these tools to troubleshoot and monitor its growing NGN network. Alice officials said that Sunrise Telecom solution was selected because of its “advanced reporting engine,” which can alert the operations department of degradations both in the network and with services.
Moreover, the TAMS and TAMS 7-VoIP Application Module enable Alice to monitor interconnection traffic links with Other Licensed Operators (OLOs) to measure and enforce service level agreement guarantees.
Sunrise Telecom’s TAMS is a network maintenance and diagnostic system for wireline, wireless, VoIP service providers and carriers. Sunrise officials explained that the system provides troubleshooting, reporting, alarming, along with providing call detail record (CDR) forwarding to an external billing verification application.
Comprised of eight probes based on NeTracker technology and one centralized server, the TAMS 7-VoIP system monitors every point of interconnection as well as Softswitch interconnections to all NGN elements.
Officials pointed out that each probe unit supports between four and 32 E1/T1 links, up to eight LAN links and STM-1 connections, to provide a complete network monitoring solution for small and large service providers.
“With the new generation of interactive data services being offered over wireless and wireline networks, it is imperative that operators understand not just how the network is behaving, but how end-users are actually experiencing the services,” said Michele Campriani, general manager of Protocol Products Group at Sunrise Telecom.
