TMCnet IP PBX Week in Review

From analog fax integration for unified messaging with Sangoma’s BRI IP PBX (News - Alert) to ATCOM’s installation of Mitel 3300 Voice over Internet Protocol communications system for Latino Community Credit Union, this week’s IP PBX headlines were abundant with examples of advancement in this developing technology.

Epygi (News - Alert) TechnologiesLtd., a worldwide provider of IP PBXs, gateways and conference servers, has recently introduced the QX1000 pure SIP enterprise IP PBX. The newly launched solution can scale to 1,000 IP extensions and support a wide range of advanced business features.

For over 10 years, Epygi has been enhancing the software for the IP PBX product range and the same reliable software is now available in the QX1000.

Does being able to integrate fax onto your BRI IP PBX phone system for unified messaging, using only one interface card sound good to you?

How about also being able to connect up to 4 ports of BRI plus 2 ports of Analog FXO or FXS and get common synchronous clocking for all channels for guaranteed fax support and unified messaging? Oh, and with telco-grade hardware echo cancellation for good measure?

If you’re looking for something like that, you might want to check out Sangoma’s FlexBRI IP PBX. Company officials say it allows you to connect your analog lines into your BRI system using only one interface card. As TMCnet’s David Sims reported, this is obviously pitched at the small or home office market, its right in their sweet spot since Sangoma’s hybrid FlexBRI is capable of integrating an analog fax machine with a BRI phone system “using only one PCI or PCI express slot,” and will fit in even the smallest 1U servers.

In other IP PBX news, President and CEO of ATCOM Business Technology Solutions (News - Alert) David Finch  announced that the company has completed installing a new Mitel (News - Alert) 3300 Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) communications system for Latino Community Credit Union (LCCU). Leveraging the Mitel 3300 VoIP communications system, LCCU which is headquartered in Durham, will now be able to link up with nine of its other branches located across North Carolina.

The new Mitel 3300 platform which comprises of a fully synchronized, central Unified Messaging voicemail system will allow LCCU to access email and voicemail from a desktop. Additionally, it features a text to speech capability which means LCCU can check emails and voicemails from any type of telephone even from remote locations.
