N-Share, NetSapiens (News - Alert) latest innovation designed to simplify voice and multimedia business communication services, will be revealed at ITEXPO East 2012 today in Miami Beach.
The n-Share solution allows for identical feature service across multiple servers in real-time. Most high-availability or n+1 schemes use primary and fallover nodes for redundancy. With n-Share, two or more SIP feature servers in different geographical locations will act as a single unit.
Voicemails left on a West Coast feature server, for instance, can be immediately retrieved on an East Coast server even if the West Coast server goes down. No matter what the distance between servers, star services like call forwarding take immediate effect across every server.
NetSapiens is marketing n-Share as the definitive solution to providing the five9s promise, which is 99.999 percent availability on an IT system, or approximately only five minutes of downtime per year. Loads within the system are shared across all connected nodes based on geographic distance from the user.
In this scenario, both voice and media data takes the shortest path between the origin and the end user. Instead of using 3G and 4G networks, where service is often unpredictable, next generation service providers will have truly geo-distributed and reliable soft switching.
“The solution is based on a inter-module messaging system that allows service delivery components to reliably subscribe to and receive events over inherently unpredictable networks such as the public Internet,” explained NetSapiens CTO David Wang. “[n-Share is] an important step in our evolution towards becoming a massively scalable distributed platform, capable of delivering any real time application from multi-media to e-commerce.”
N-share’s first deployment for Class 5 services comes with Mix Networks (News - Alert), Inc. Mix is a hosted PBX provider that specializes in multi-tenant residential facilities and corporate buildings. With n-Share, Mix can geographically distribute its call load between data centers in St. Louis and New York City.
Customers can receive service from the data center that is closest to them without worrying about facility or network problems. Mix Networks CEO Louie Holmes praised NetSapiens, saying, “We have always appreciated the reliability of NetSapiens' switch, and n-Share is just more proof of their expertise in creating reliable next generation service solutions.”
