General Telecom Rolls Out VoIP Partner Program

Infrastructure costs alone can be intimidating to those considering setting up their own VoIP company. However, entering the voice over IP market has become that much easier, thanks to General Telecom, which has rolled out its VoIP Concierge Partner Program.

During ITEXPO (News - Alert) East in Miami last week, General Telecom announced its Full Service VoIP Concierge Partner Program, allowing resellers to sell UC solutions without expensive and redundant infrastructure.

The private label CaaS solution allows businesses to enter the VoIP market without hassle while giving VARS, interconnects, and other non-traditional service providers the ability to sell hosted IP-PBX (News - Alert) and SIP services under their own brand, a very different approach to traditional partner programs.

Company officials said the program allows businesses to enter the VoIP market with minimum up-front investment, brand the VoIP service as their own, as well as add hosted IP-PBX services to the product portfolio.

Adding to or offering new solutions gives businesses access to customers and accounts that they could not sell to before, as well as up sell existing accounts and increase average revenue per user, according to says Kent Terpe, vice president of channels & alliances, in a press release.

“Owning the customer means our partners can build customized solutions under their own brand, set price points based on customer requirements, and bill customers directly. This will significantly increase value and ARPU. The private label VoIP offering is targeted at providers preferring to focus on selling services rather than managing the operational complexities of being a telecom provider.”

Business VoIP services are known for helping to reduce costs in businesses and simultaneously improving the quality of interactions.

Offering Apple (News - Alert) iPhone users a new video calling experience, Acrobits, a Prague-based provider of mobile VoIP applications, has debuted a voice and video application that combines SmoothFlow person-to-person video technology, TMCnet reported.

The SmoothFlow video call technology “smooths out” the participants’ movements during the call. The advantage of this solution is that it leverages the tools already available in most smartphones, so customers aren’t required to invest in additional hardware.
