Cannon Township, located in northeast Kent County, MI, replaced its legacy analog system with the new VoIP phone systems from Intorrent Technologies (News - Alert).
For Cannon Township, Intorrent’s customer premises equipment (CPE) VoIP solution was seen as the ideal choice to upgrade the township’s current model and help it to seamlessly communicate internally and to its constituency, 13,000 people on the north side of Grand Rapids. And the simplicity of the Intorrent’s systems enabled the township to start utilizing upgraded system immediately after deployment.
Intorrent explained that it offers a complete business VoIP phone system that is developed for small- and medium-sized businesses seeking a comprehensive feature set and unmatched performance. Utilizing Asterisk (News - Alert) software, the systems’ comprehensive feature set and powerful functionality can be configured to meet any corporate communications requirements.
Some of the features and benefits of the Intorrent’s VoIP phones are simplified licensing model; 40 – 60 percent lower total cost of ownership (TCO); it can be deployed over existing network infrastructure; built-in conference bridges reduce third party dependence; CRM and Web application integration; Unified Messaging (voicemail to email); automatic call routing based on date and time; fully web-based interface; and more.
“The thing I find most useful is that the system sends me an email if I’m not there to answer the phone. The email contains the voicemail file and I’m able to click on it and listen no matter where I am,” stated Jim LaPeer, treasurer of Cannon Township, in a press release.
Intorrent added that it empowers local governments to communicate and operate more effectively than ever before. With Cloud, premise and hybrid VoIP solutions loaded with easy-to-use features, it helps officials make their cities and towns better places to live and work, and all for a very taxpayer-friendly price.
In other news, Peter Arena, owner of Kent County, Michigan’s chain of Arena’s Pizza restaurants, said that he recently selected Intorrent Technologies’ Cloud-based Intorrent Supercell to enhance the way Arena’s Pizza handles inbound call volume.
