IP Telephony Software Developer Dialexia to Unveil SIP-Based IP-PBX, VoIP Solutions

Last year, when I asked Mohamed El Mohri, chief technical officer at Dialexia Communications, about the evolution of the IP communications space and his company’s direction, he told me that he’d seen major benefits in the area of “remote” working.

A next-generation communication software and services company based in Montreal, Dialexia develops and markets IP telephony software and applications, and provides IP-based telephony solutions using for enterprises, service providers and resellers.

A year ago, Mohri told me that his company solves customers’ pains in most areas that IP communications technology can, providing low prices, high administration and usage flexibility, elaborated services, easy installation and deployment.

“We make our products affordable so that even the smallest start-ups are able to switch to VoIP and get into the market,” he said.

Next month, Dialexia will showcase its solutions in booth 433 at the Internet Telephony Conference & Expo, to be held Sept. 16 to 18 in Los Angeles – and it sounds like the company has expanded its product line.

I recently put some questions about Dialexia’s solutions to Mohri and the company’s chief executive officer, Ahmed Aina.

They say that ITEXPO attendees can expect to find low-cost, easy-to-use applications such as Dial-Office, a SIP-based IP-PBX (News - Alert), Dial-Gate our VoIP softswitch management system, and the DX Series embedded VoIP PBX phone system.

Our entire exchange follows. Check it out.

Rich Tehrani (News - Alert): What has been your company’s biggest achievement in 2008 so far?

Mohamed El Mohri: Developing the next generation of hosted IP PBX as well as providing Unified Communications capabilities to the service providers. The latter will benefit from new revenue sources on the SMB markets. It is a full-fledged solution with billing possibilities for all service types, such as extensions, plans, virtual circuits, and it allows multi-tenants for each PBX account.

RT: What can we expect to see for from your company for the next 12 months?

MEM: We will present enhancements to our product with Unified Communications capabilities. You will see the latest version of our Dial-Office Enterprise with Conference Bridge feature and Our Dial-Gate Softswitch with DID management and Virtual Circuits module that will enable seamless SIP Trunking. We will add the fixed –mobile convergence (FMC) capabilities to all our products.

RT: How do you see the communications market evolving?

MEM: The market will grow and the demand for IP communications products will go on for the next five years. The challenge is for the industry to be able to deliver the right solutions for this particular IP Communications Market. The trend is on the next generation networks; such as, IMS and FMC as well as IPTV.

RT: What company made the biggest contribution to communications this year?

MEM: There is no single company that made the greatest contribution to communications this year, but several; we’ve been noticing vendors from the mobile world adding SIP applications to their mobile devices, companies from the social networks adding tools for instant messaging and VoIP, as well as video streaming.

RT: How has Google (News - Alert) changed our markets?

MEM: Google has been getting involved in social network applications, instant messaging, mobile applications and VoIP. This trend is attracting communications companies to integrate their software with Google APIs.

RT: How about Apple (News - Alert)?

MEM: The I-Phone is changing the way people will be using the cellular phone with new features like GPS, VoIP, etc.

RT: What mobile phone(s) do you use?

Ahmed Aina: I-mate and Nokia (News - Alert) with wireless and VoIP capability.

RT: Who will win in an Apple/RIM war?

MEM: It’s hard to say; RIM has taken the lead, but Apple is catching up.

RT: What do you think the communications market might look like in five years?

MEM: The combination of WiMax/VoIP and GSM will become a common configuration for many cellular phones in the market.

RT: What will attendees see in your booth at ITEXPO this September?

AA: Low-cost easy to use applications such as Dial-Office our SIP based IP-PBX, Dial-Gate our VoIP softswitch management system, and our revolutionary DX Series embedded VoIP PBX phone system. Additionally we are excited to present new features to our product with Unified Communications capabilities and conferencing. Our Dial-Gate Softswitch with DID management and Virtual Circuits module will enable seamless SIP Trunking for ITSPs and carriers.

RT: What sorts of companies should come to your exhibit?

AA: SMEs needing a telecommunications solution that will provide enhanced productivity by simplifying their needs to a single system that manages telephony, Internet, e-mail and long distance.

ISPs, start-ups and entrepreneurs looking to go further than traditional network and basic broadband services with Hosted services, or generate recurring revenues with Prepaid/Postpaid billing services.

VARs wanting to enhance their business by targeting additional niche markets with VoIP solutions that are affordable, scalable, and easy to deploy and support.

RT: Why should customers choose your company’s solutions?

AA: Because we build and deliver powerful converged data and voice communications products and services. We are committed to providing advanced Voice and data over IP switches for Small carrier ITSPs; phone booth retail outlets, and VoIP telephone systems for SMEs. Innovative technology solutions are our passion and our dedication to addressing our client’s needs is our strength.

RT: Please make one surprising prediction for 2009.

AA: That would be the long awaited emergence of IP Communications from hype, tests, and pilot projects to a concrete business where companies will be moving from legacy systems to IP (except the early adopters). The demand of the IPTV service will increase; hence, most softswitch vendors will integrate video on demand and IPTV services into their platforms.
