The ModuLAN FaxReceiver and DocuSender fax appliances from
Ringdale Inc have been enhanced to enable the conversion of analog documents to portable document format (PDF) files.
Users will now be able to offer digital documents from these fax appliances which are independent of application hardware, software and operating system. Ringdale, a part of the Network Technology Group manufactures network enhancing connectivity products.
An earlier version of the FaxReceiver and DocuSender appliances already had the ability to convert documents to a GIF format. Since most users have a PDF reader or can download the same easily from the internet, it is a convenient method to deliver documents online.
The appliance consists of modular, local area network fax appliances. These are ideal for those organizations that are environment conscious and want to go green by reducing the usage of paper in their offices.
The FaxReceiver and the DocuSender does not require a PC or a Fax Service for their operation. It contains a small solid-state unit and a phone line. The solid-state unit will connect directly to a fax phone and to an
Ethernet network. It will convert incoming faxes into e-mails and send them directly to an inbox. It is the ideal solution for organizations that require checking of incoming faxes on computer screens and also the ability to eliminate spam faxes with the delete option.
The DocuSender consists of a small solid-state unit and a touch panel keypad. These will connect to a compatible USB-connected scanner, an Ethernet network and a phone line, with the ability to scan outgoing documents to e-mail or fax. It enables multiple scan stations to increase user productivity and availability.
The DocuSender can be used either as a standalone or in a server-based environment and can connect up to two readers at a time. When used in a server-based environment, it will allow user authentication at the scanner through Ringdale's FollowMe secure document capture and output management technology, while attached to USB connected readers.
Matching documents to distinct identifiers like client codes or barcodes is also possible with this appliance. DocuSender will also allow an electronic copy of any scan-to-fax and scan-to-email document to be made on a server for archival and audit purposes.
