TalkSwitch Intros TS-850i SIP Phone, Includes Full IP-PBX Functionality

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

TalkSwitch, a phone systems developer, today announced the availability of its TS-850i cordless Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications phone for small businesses.

Small businesses that opt for cordless phones often sacrifice important functional features of traditional phones. The TS-850i cordless phones integrates a full set of TalkSwitch (News - Alert) phone system features, allowing users to break away from the desktop while retaining full TalkSwitch IP-PBX phone system functionality.

The device suits business users in warehouses, retail stores, manufacturing facilities, and teleworkers. The phone uses Session Initiation Protocol (News - Alert), or “SIP,” for standards-based VoIP connectivity and also works with a landline. A TS-850i extension can be located anywhere in a home or office without a nearby phone jack.

“This phone is built for outstanding performance and value,” said Jan Scheeren, president and chief executive officer at TalkSwitch. “We are committed to delivering small business customers the most owner-friendly, powerful and cost-effective phone systems on the market.”

With its sturdy construction, the TS-850i – pictured right – features a high-quality speakerphone and 8 hours talk time or 240 hours standby time per charge. Its ranges up to 1,000 feet outside and 150 feet inside.

Also included are features such as auto-detection and configuration of the handsets and multiple handset per base capability. It is also provided with additional functional features such as caller ID, backlit color display, message waiting light, 6 levels of ringer volume, adjustable key sounds, call log for incoming, outgoing and missed calls, 170-entry phone book, and speed dial.

Featuring DECT (News - Alert) 6.0 technology, TS-850i is less expensive and easier to deploy than comparable WiFi sets, TalkSwitch said. The bases can be located anywhere on the local area network for maximum coverage in the office.

The complete TS-850i set, a base and a handset, is $299 and extra handsets with chargers are $149 each. Each base supports a maximum of eight handsets and each user can use up to five bases per location.
