Avaya’s Unified Communications (

Miercom.
The Miercom certifications assure companies that Avaya (

The certificate was awarded after three Avaya Communication Manager 5.1 model networks completed intensive, hands-on testing in a lab environment. The solutions were tested under various loads and conditions, which included mid-sized business networks, campus environments and large distributed offices with contact centers.
The Miercom Campus report indicates that Avaya Communication manager 5.1 IP PBX (

Because telecommuting, branch office operation and remote system management are enabled, they provide a viable alternative to large office complexes and reduce business travel with effective multi-media services, according to the report.
Avaya recently launched a new Green Web site and an energy savings calculator that calculates savings in kilowatt energy consumption, carbon emissions and gasoline consumption in both English and metric units.
Avaya says one of the various ways it helps companies to reduce carbon emissions is by decreasing the amount of hardware needed for communications. The company cites the case of one Norway-based telecommunications provider,
Ventelo, which used a wide range of communications technologies to meet increasing customer demand.
Due to the limited ability to integrate diverse communications channels, the workflow processes at Ventelo were largely paper-driven and the environment was hardware-intensive. Avaya Contact Centre applications allowed Ventelo to reduce hardware, centralize customer communications and information and enjoy a streamlined, virtually, paper-free environment for greatly improved service and productivity.
