Speakeasy Expands SIP Services to IP-PBX Market

Speakeasy, a VoIP, data and IT service provider, reportedly has expanded its SIP-based voice and data integration capability.

With the expansion – part of the company’s so-called “Integrated Voice” service, Speakeasy (News - Alert) says it can provide combined voice and data service over direct SIP trunks, in addition to its existing service over analog and digital lines.

Speakeasy officials said that Integrated Voice connects to a traditional key system or PBX (News - Alert), and now with direct SIP, to an IP-PBX, making it easier than ever to take advantage of the cost savings and flexibility of Speakeasy Voice.

“With Direct SIP, Speakeasy can offer integrated voice and data regardless what kind of phone system a customer may have in place, allowing us to expand our customer pipeline and make it even simpler for small and mid-sized businesses to access high-value, low-cost Voice over IP telecom services,” said Bruce Chatterley, Speakeasy’s president and chief executive officer.

Chatterley said that the new service solidifies Speakeasy’s position as a full-service voice and data provider and creates yet another attractive option to avoid the comparatively enormous costs of traditional telecom services.

The company said that to support direct SIP, it will certify eight major IP-PBX hardware manufacturers. Speakeasy has certified the ADTRAN Netvanta 7100 and Fonality trixbox Community Edition.

ADTRAN (News - Alert) is pleased to be a Speakeasy solution partner with our NetVanta 7100 IP Communications Platform,” said Dennis Gatens, director of strategy, ADTRAN Enterprise Networks Division.

Gatens said that the NetVanta 7100 when combined with Speakeasy Direct SIP service offers the small and mid-sized business and enterprise end user a feature-rich, high- quality cost-effective converged voice and data solution.

“Part of our portfolio of solutions that deliver innovation from the demarc to the desktop, the NetVanta 7100 is an excellent, long-term capital investment particularly in these challenging economic times,” he said.
