Cbeyond Targets Microsoft's IP-PBX, Expands Channel Partners
By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor
Cbeyond, Inc. reportedly has formed a master agent partnership with Telecom Brokerage, Inc. to focus on selling solutions featuring its BeyondVoice with SIPconnect and Microsoft Response Point, the software giant’s IP-PBX (News - Alert) system for small businesses.
The partnership brings together the first Microsoft Response Point master agent and TBI, the second-largest national master agent in the United States, and Cbeyond (News - Alert), a provider of IP-based services delivered across a private network.
Cbeyond has built a strong client base with many small businesses by providing IP-based communications and IT services. TBI plans to offer this integrated solution through its network of 800 sub-agents. All TBI subagents are eager to grow their revenue streams by reselling SIP Trunking solutions that feature Cbeyond and Microsoft (News - Alert) Response Point.
Brad Linden, the vice president and general manager of the indirect channel for Cbeyond, said that this partnership will expand the distribution of the company’s services and also allow more small businesses to benefit from Cbeyond’s portfolio of productivity-enhancing applications.
Cbeyond’s BeyondVoice with SIPconnect is pre-configured on the Microsoft Response Point IP based phone system and user interface which helps to simplify the installation for small businesses. Under the master agent agreement, all TBI sub-agents will now be able to provide a complete IP-based phone solution from two trusted providers.
The company was one of the companies that helped to pioneer the Session Initiation Protocol (News - Alert) trunking industry standard, called SIPconnect. SIPconnect is used to eliminate the need for a VoIP gateway on the premise, improves voice quality and creates a strong foundation for personalized applications and rich media services.
Geoffrey Shepstone, the president of TBI, said that “Establishing a master agent agreement with Cbeyond enables our subagents to resell one of the industry’s leading providers of bundled communications and IT services. Cbeyond’s robust portfolio of services better equips our sub-agents to provide small businesses with applications that positively impact their bottom line.”
