edgeBOX SoHo for Small Businesses Launched By Critical Links

Critical Links has released edgeBOX SoHo for small businesses of up to 10 users.

It is an entry level version of edgeBOX, a multi-function appliance. The edgeBOX SoHo will replace up to six distinct products at a small business which will help to simplify the voice/data infrastructure. It will also provide ‘big-business’ features that can be managed through an integrated simplified interface.

The edgeBOX SoHo brings the feature rich capability of the edgeBOX at a very competent price. According to Alex Sarin, VP of product management at Critical Links (News - Alert), the company is mindful of the impact of costly investments by small businesses during the current economy. The edgeBOX SoHo reduces the upfront investment without cutting the edgeBOX functionality. The customer will thus be able to see a 60 percent reduction in operational costs.

The edgeBOX SoHo appliance provides an 'office-in-a-box' solution for small businesses. The usual range of interface options of the standard edgeBOX is available in edgeBOX SoHo as well. It includes VoIP/IP-PBX (News - Alert), Security firewall/VPN, email, web and print server features. Routing with quality of service (QoS), file back up and WiFi access point are also available. It is possible to deploy value-added edgePACKs that provide collaboration tools and content management on the SoHo appliance.

The small, quiet form factor of the edgeBOX SoHo appliance is ideal for use in an office where server rooms are not available. The edgeBOX SoHo contains network ports for connecting to local area switch and broadband service and also USB ports for connecting storage/backup devices. It also has 250GB of storage for mail and file sharing. The edgeBOX SoHo has been designed to creatively address the changes in the global economic environment and also the impact it has on Critical Link’s customer segment.

The flagship product from Critical Links, the edgeBOX is an appliance that includes VoIP/IP-PBX, VPN, security, NAC, QoS and a WiFi (News - Alert) access point. A fax-server, web server, e-mail server and print server are also included. The edgeBOX is available on a number of hardware platforms that support up to 300 users.

Critical Links provides converged voice, data and IT solutions for SMBs.
