Zultys Earns NGN Award for SIP-Based IP-PBX Solutions

A Sunnyvale, California-based company whose IP-PBX (News - Alert) systems are centered on a single-server design and geared toward SMBs, announced this week that it earned an award from the Next Generation Network magazine for “outstanding contributions to IP telephony.”

Officials at Zultys Inc., recipients of the first annual NGN Leadership Award, credit their embracing of open SIP standards for allowing them to create innovative SIP-based IP-PBX solutions.

“This allows us to provide a lot of performance, with fewer servers, making our solution the most ‘green’ small and medium business unified communication and networking solution available,” said the company’s chief executive officer, Steve Rothenberg.

The award, established by the Technology Marketing Corporation, a global media company, seeks outstanding achievement in the IP Communications community, including products, services and technologies relating to IMS and NGN environments.

Specifically, Zultys (News - Alert) received the award for its new SIP next-generation networking, mobility, and collaboration solutions, which work across all operating systems – Apple (News - Alert), Windows and Linux.

“Zultys has been recognized for their exceptional work in advancing IMS and NGN services and technologies, and we honor Zultys with an NGN Leadership Award. With the significant growth in next generation network technologies, receiving this award distinguishes them as a leader in the industry,” said Rich Tehrani (News - Alert), president of TMC.

As TMCnet learned in an interview with Zultys, the company is positioning itself for market share gains this year with a series of revisions, updates and new features to its five core product families: the “Media Exchanges,” or “MX“ platform that’s at the heart of its IP-PBX and UC system; IP phones; software and system management; connectivity; and Web conferencing.

“We’ve doubled the size of our marketing department in the last 60 days,” Kerbage told TMCnet. “We continue to invest into our people, our engineering and our R&D to create new products and more compelling features.”

Many of those features, which Kerbage unveiled for the first time to TMCnet, will bolster Zultys’ MX offerings, which combine an IP-PBX (with voice mail and automated attendants), data communications servers, and security features. They also add user visibility/presence, instant messaging, fax origination and termination and call center capabilities.

A full list of the 2009 NGN Leadership Award winners can be found in the May/June 2009 issue of NGN magazine, www.ngnmag.com.
