The newest models feature combinations of E1/T1 PRI or BRI ISDN with both FXS and FXO modules, all co-located in the same standard 1U or 2U 19” rack-mountable chassis, according to company officials.
Xorcom is a privately-held manufacturer of business telephony interfaces and appliances based on Asterisk (

XPP technology uses USB 2.0 ports to connect to any Asterisk server, and eliminates the requirement for a PCI (E1/T1) card, and even for PCI slots. Officials said that the USB architecture embodied in XPP technology offers advantages such as ability to build large systems that support hundreds of analog extensions, and more. Moreover, each Xorcom product is housed in a chassis supporting up to four different telephony modules.
The Astribank channel bank provides businesses an opportunity to expand at a fraction of the traditional cost of telephony equipment, said officials. The Astribank driver has been included as a part of Zaptel (now DAHDI), which makes Astribank interoperable with all current Asterisk PBX (

The Astribank channel bank supports up to 32 analog ports and up to 144 PRI + FXS/FXO analog ports on a 19" 1U box—144 = quad E1 + 24 analog ports. In addition, it supports high speed USB 2 connectivity, full support for fax machines, hot swappable architecture, and is rack- or wall- mountable.
Officials said that the Xorcom IP-PBX is a stand-alone appliance that runs Asterisk and Astribank VoIP telephony interfaces on a standard 19" 1U or 2U rack-mountable chassis. The three Xorcom IP-PBX models offered by the company to address various capacity requirements are XR1000 IP-PBX for SOHO; XR2000 IP-PBX for SME/SMB; XR3000 IP-PBX for Enterprise.
The XR1000 addresses the needs of small office / home office (SOHO). It’s housed in a standard 19” 1U wall- or rack-mountable chassis and supports up to 16 analog and digital (BRI) phone ports, up to 50 users and up to 5 concurrent calls, said officials.
XR2000 IP-PBX has been optimized for small-medium business (SMB). Officials said that it’s housed in a standard 19” 2U rack-mountable chassis and supports up to 160 PSTN / analog phones ports with external Astribank units, up to 300 users and up to 60 concurrent calls.
An enterprise grade IP-PBX, XR3000 is housed in a standard 19” 2U rack-mountable chassis and supports up to 640 PSTN / analog phones ports with external Astribank units, up to 1000 users and up to 300 concurrent calls.
