pbxnsip Launches Leeds, London Training, Demo Suites

In response to the growing demand from partners and resellers for advanced IP PBX (News - Alert), VoIP, SIP and Microsoft product training, SIP-based IP PBX software player pbxnsip today announced the launch of its new Leeds and London training suites.

The training suites are designed to help partners learn about pbxnsip (News - Alert) and Microsoft applications, such as Office Communications Server and Exchange Server, as well as third party vendor applications and compatible hardware products including Snom, Polycom (News - Alert), Cisco and Linksys IP Telephones, the company said. Partners can also learn about gateways from ratified vendors including VegaStream, Sangoma, Patton, Quintum, Audiocodes, Skype (News - Alert), Teles and Mediatrix.

The effort is part of the pbxnsip “VoIP education initiative” to help partners and customers better understand the IP industry, and help the convergence between tradition telecommunications and IP telephony technology.

The move comes as pbxnsip, a leading manufacturer of SIP-based Private Branch Exchange (PBX) telephone systems, reports an increased demand for legacy telephone systems engineers, PABX resellers, and installation companies to enter the VoIP or IP PBX market. VoIP itself remains a top application, TMC (News - Alert) reported.

“We are responding to the many requests from partners who said they wanted professional on-site and classroom based training services for their employees, engineers and sales executives,” Jonathan Greenwood, CEO at pbxnsip Europe Ltd., said in a statement. “This was particularly expressed by partners who have changed or migrated from different backgrounds other than IP, or customers with new requirements outside the traditional telecom field who wish to learn how to manage their equipment.”

The new training division will complement the variety of IP-related services the company plans to roll out this year, Greenwood said. The company has set training dates for the next six months. And already, partners are showing interest, the firm said.

“I'm sure we will see yet another improvement in channel performance, following the training and support we are offering our partners,” John Bennett, European Sales Director at pbxnsip Europe Ltd. said in a statement. “Our commitment to showing that channel that we are willing to invest time and money back into them will be a great driving force to work closely with them in procuring good long term business cliental.”

Despite the sour economy, organizations have experienced a growth in IP PBX deployments, TMC reported.

As TMC recently reported, Quebec, Canada-based Media5 Corp. announced that its Media5-Fone SIP client is now interoperable with pbxnsip’s SIP-based IP-PBX. Media5 announced the release of Media5-Fone, earlier this month. Also, recently pbxnsip extended its interoperability partnership with VegaStream in an effort to extend the reach and usefulness of each company’s respective products.
