Douglas Telecom Announces a Redundant Model of Business Telephone Service
By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor
Quality and flexibility are the key factors driving the adoption of business voice over Internet protocol solutions. However, many businesses have been slow to adopt VoIP services due to concerns on reliability and cost.
To provide businesses with economical and feature-rich VoIP services, Douglas Telecom, a provider of VoIP services, reportedly announced a new model that implements fully redundant quad-server clusters with integral real-time backup and restore systems.
This solution, which company officials said is the first in the industry, combines the idle telephone capacity into one large, unified PBX (News - Alert) telephone network. With this solution, Douglas Telecom is able to realize substantial savings and pass them onto its customers, officials said.
The new business VoIP service is built on the company’s own technology, which combines databases with a real-time indexing engine. Officials said Douglas Telecom's real-time indexing engine yields unprecedented speed and efficiency lowering the networking and hardware costs of providing business VoIP services.
The new business telephone service includes all the standard PBX features, such as auto-attendant, call hold and transfer, ring groups, extensions and the like. Customers get these features at no additional cost and without additional equipment
The service also offers on-demand features such as call holding queues, call recording, conference rooms, supervisor listen-in, staggered ringing patterns, electronic fax, multi-layered voicemail, alternate day / night / holiday greetings and call ring patterns and customized call routing.
The service, including telephone services and hosted PBX features, is offered starting at $20 per month. The service is available without term contracts, setup fees or cancellation fees.
