announced that it designed a second high speed 1G/sec Ethernet port into its IP-PBX (

Alert) offering.
The second Ethernet lets each IP-PBX be connected to a different LAN switch, allowing the separation of data and VoIP traffic, company officials said. The technology will help improve voice quality increase throughput, while diminishing the chances of a network failure.
The new dual Ethernet port models are available as an optional factory-installed configuration on the
XR2000 IP-PBX for SMB, and the
XR3000 IP-PBX for enterprise, the company said. Xorcom (

Alert) IP-PBX units include a DHCP server and a TFTP server, allowing companies to use additional Ethernet interface for SIP phones provisioning through a network, which is separate from the company LAN.
Xorcom officials will discuss the Ethernet port models and other news with attendees at booth #107 at ITEXPO (
News -
Alert), which runs through Sept. 3. More than 7,000 people are expected to attend the conference and tradeshow, which is in its 10
th year.
In addition to exhibiting at the show, Ruth Bridger, Xorcom’s vice president of marketing will participate in a panel discussion at 5 p.m. ET today called, “
Open Source: Lessons Learned.” In the session, industry experts will address the most important issues to consider when deploying Asterisk in enterprise situations, and how to avoid most common mistakes that customers make during roll-out. Bridger will be joined by Steve Sokol, product manager for software at
Digium, Inc. and John Malone president and CEO of
The Eastern Management Group.
IP-PBX is one of the fastest-growing segment in communications technology, Eran Gal, CEO of Xorcom told, TMC (

Alert) CEO Rich Tehrani in a
recent pre-show interview. He said during the talk that the U.S. market will likely be the great opportunity for the company because of the state of the current economy.
In other news, Xorcom recently
announced it added dozens of new models to its existing offering of XR1000, XR2000 and XR3000 IP-private branch exchange product lines and Astribank channel banks. The new models feature combinations of E1/T1 PRI or BRI ISDN with both FXS and FXO modules, all co-located in the same standard 1U or 2U 19” rack-mountable chassis, company officials said.
