Teleca, a supplier of solutions and services to the mobile industry, has reportedly joined the
LiMo Foundation.

Alert) is a global industry consortium of mobile leaders dedicated to creating an open, consistent Linux-based software platform for use by the whole mobile industry.
With the addition of Teleca, mobile device manufacturers and operators wanting to develop products based on the LiMo Platform would now benefit from Teleca’s global scale, track record in developing solutions for Open Source, and secure systems integration services.
“There is a huge addressable market for LiMo handsets worldwide with the mobile industry gravitating more and more towards collaborative open platforms,” said Andrew Till, vice president, solutions marketing, in a statement.
Till said that the company’s expertise in offering tailored solutions using Open Source Software components will bring the benefits of faster time-to-market and lower costs to companies developing products based on LiMo.
“Additionally we offer companies the freedom to innovate and differentiate their services on top of a common platform,” Till said.

Recently, Teleca
announced a partnership agreement with
iconmobile group, one of the design agencies and technology suppliers to the mobile world. The combined offer will assist equipment vendors, network operators, service providers, and the automotive industries in creating better and more compelling product, reducing time-to-market and improving quality.
