Telrex Enhances CallRex Software for Microsoft OCS 2007 R2

Telrex (News - Alert), a provider of IP call recording and contact center optimization software, has designed and developed the CallRex Call Recording software, an easy and affordable IP call recording and monitoring solution for IP telephony and unified communications systems. Now, the company has announced new enhancements for the software so that it supports the Microsoft (News - Alert) Office Communications Server, or “OCS,” 2007 R2.

CallRex Call Recording is an ideal call recording software solution for a variety of softswitch and IP-PBX (News - Alert) platforms and, according to company officials, has worked with a variety of IP-PBX providers to ensure interoperability. The CallRex Call Recording for Office Communications Server allows users to record calls encrypted with Secure Real-Time Transport Protocol, or “SRTP,” and can record calls from hard or soft phones setup within the OCS environment. Users can benefit fully from the OCS’ built-in call encryption features and also realize the profits of call recording for their business.

CallRex is a software-only solution that can run on Windows-based servers and does not require additional proprietary hardware, expensive telephony cards or complex installations. To record calls within the OCS environment, CallRex collects call information for soft phone on the desktop and passively copies the information via a CallRex plug-in to a central call recording server.

Robert Kapela (News - Alert), president of Telrex, said that the company’s unique software extends the communications capabilities of Microsoft Office Communications Server, enabling companies to securely document voice interactions from both hard and soft phones within the OCS environment and store the recorded calls on a central server within their network.

Telrex has stated that all their software solutions are offered under a subscription-based licensing model. 1- and 2-year subscription contracts are offered, allowing customers to utilize workforce optimization solutions at a low monthly per-user cost. The subscription-based licenses include access to technical support, maintenance, and all product upgrades throughout the life of the subscription contract. Though the CallRex software is offered on a subscription basis it is not a hosted solution.

Recently, Telrex enhanced video capture in CallRex computer recording and announced CallRex Multi-Media 3.7.
