With the help of the all new and enhanced Save Call feature, users can save the captured trace along in a PCAP compatible file format.
The new PacketScan automatically generates alerts when a particular vital parameter goes beyond a specified value, based upon the criteria determined by the user. The alerts can be set by selecting an option in Alert Summary and in Triggers and Action Settings.
Additionally, the Alert Summary tab provides summary of the each alerts that have occurred during the analysis, displaying the information in various columns such as Call#, Protocol, Message, Type, Threshold, Value, Caller and Caller Id. The improved T.38 Analysis within the application reassembles the fragmented data and helps in identifying the T.30 message from it. Identified T.30 message is displayed in the T.38 ladder diagram.
The VQMon Setting within the new version of PacketScan has been enhanced, offering a new option to select the Japan or North America International standard code. The MOS scores based upon R-Factor scores are calculated using these standards.
According to Karthik Ramalingam, project manager, GL, the company’s PacketScan is a real-time IP/VoIP analyzer that non-intrusively analyzes and captures live IP traffic, and segregates them into SIP / H323 / Megaco / MGCP calls. The enhanced application also collects statistics, produces CDRs, displays detailed protocol traces, displays ladder diagrams, and a host of other useful information about VoIP calls, Ramalingam said.
Applications include monitoring of IP phones, Gateways, IP Routers, Switches, and Proxies, and the real-time nature of PacketScan makes it an outstanding tool for live monitoring of VoIP traffic as well as long-term traffic statistics gathering.
