Acme Packet Net-Net session border controllers (SBC) provide critical control functions to deliver trusted, first-class interactive communications-voice, video and multimedia sessions-across IP network borders. They support multiple applications in service provider, enterprise, government and contact center networks-from SIP trunking to hosted VoIP enterprise and residential services to fixed-mobile convergence.
With Acme Packet, QSC will get the flexibility to address a growing number of service-level requirements. For example, the Net-Net SBC controls inbound calls that are 'forked' to multiple destination endpoints, applying policies that allow QSC's core switches to more gracefully manage each call leg without requiring expensive configuration changes to those switches or other core network elements.
'We are proud that QSC, one of the leading NGN providers in Germany, chose the Net-Net 4500 to accommodate the growth made possible by their network expansion,' said Seamus Hourihan (

The customers of QSC get all sizes a comprehensive portfolio of high-quality voice, data and managed services over broadband or leased line access to its high capacity Next Generation Network (NGN). Connecting over 200 German cities with populations of more than 40,000, QSC employs approximately 700 people throughout Germany and operates on a nationwide scale.
Recently,
Calltrade Carrier Services AG
deployed a Net-Net 4500 session border controller from Acme Packet to improve its wholesale VoIP service. With this, Calltrade is looking to achieve seamless interoperability with other service providers throughout the world. Acme Packet's Net-Net SBC transport controls will help Calltrade to map signaling and media traffic to distinct VLANs within its POPs. Also Calltrade applies rate limiting policies at the Net-Net SBC.
