Alert), Inc., a well known international provider of network access solutions for fiber, copper and wireless broadband infrastructures, recently announced that du, an integrated telecom service provider in the UAE, has chosen Zhone's Multiple Access Line Concentrator (MALC) Multi-service Access Node. Their main intention is to deliver a wide range of highly advanced IP access services to its large number of fixed access customers. The services include voice, Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM), ADSL2+ and ISDN BRI over IP to its residential and business customers as part of its IP network initiative.
The MALC facilitates du to upgrade to new IP services quickly without stranding end-customers or network assets. With the help of MALC, du is able to provide ISDN BRI over IP which guarantees end-users the facility to conserve investments in existing PBX (
News -
Alert) equipment along with full range of IP services. du is making use of Zhone's MALC having full integration and interoperability of voice services (POTS & ISDN). Along with this, du has chosen MALC based on platform performance and the extensive service offered by it.
In a release, Tariq Al Bahri, who is the vice president of fixed access networks of du telecom said that "Our vision is to deliver both our existing and new customers all services over IP while ensuring their investment protection. Zhone's multi-service platform allows us to offer a wide breadth of services from a single box."
In a release, Hakim Alhusan, who is the Zhone's vice president of Middle East and Africa said that "As a company, du is extremely forward-looking with a need to deliver fast time-to-market services today while ensuring open service options well into the future. We're pleased to be selected by du as a vendor partner and eager to contribute to an infrastructure build that is poised to serve as a global model for IP access networking."
